Professional Development for NQTs 2010 - 2011
From Sept 2010 the Education Centre Network in conjuction with the National Induction Programme for Teachers will run a professional development programme for newly qualified teachers in 21 education centres nationwide and all NQTs will be invited to attend. This is an exciting development as it means that all NQTs can avail of professional development in their first year in the classroom. To help deliver the programme, the National Induction Programme team trained 51 facilitators (nominated by Education centres) in May of this year in Newbridge and Galway. The four day training programme proved to be very successful and we look forward to developing this aspect of our work. If any mentor is interested in facilitating professional development for newly qualified teachers in the future, we would be delighted to hear from you.
