St. Tola’s is a co-educational Catholic primary school in Shannon in Co. Clare. There are 232 pupils currently enrolled and we have 15 teachers and 3 SNAs dedicated to ensuring that those pupils reach their full potential. Here at St. Tola’s we embrace all nationalities, religions and cultures whilst also promoting our own Catholic values and faith. The teaching staff in our school is very much in agreement that it is important to support newly appointed teachers in their first year out. There has been a long tradition in our school that staff would offer a helping hand to the new staff member, so when it was decided that our school would become involved with the NIPT it was very much welcomed. We have been involved with the project since September 2009 and we look forward to many more successful years in helping to make our NQTs’ lives a little less stressful in their first year teaching!
